South Coast & Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon Tour from Reykjavik Iceland -- This tour takes us along the south shore of Iceland to the magnificent glacial lagoon, Jokulsarlon. We will drive along the coastline with its beautiful mountains and scenery. On the way we will pass charming villages such as Selfoss, Vik and Kirkjubaejarklaustur as well as Skogarfoss waterfall and Skaftafell National Park.

Tour includes hotel pick-up. Rates are in US Dollars. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 800-719-6376. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

We will drive through the vast desert of Skeidararsandur where sand storms are so powerful that they sometimes strip the paint off a car! Many of Iceland's biggest glacier rivers run into the Atlantic Ocean on the south shore. Each year they carry millions of tons of black volcanic sand which affects the shape of this amazing coastline and constantly changes it.

Just before we reach the lagoon we pass Iceland's biggest volcano Oraefajokull glacier which has the highest peak of the island, Hvannadalshnjukur (2110 m).

After we arrive at the lagoon we have some time to view this stunning area before we take a boat tour on the lagoon.

The boats that carry us are no ordinary boats as they are capable of driving short distances as well as sail on the water. Jokulsarlon lagoon started to form in the early nineteen twenties and is getting bigger every year. You will see blocks of ice that have broken off Europe's biggest glacier, Vatnajokull, and sail slowly towards the ocean which is only 2 km away. Some of the icebergs are partly covered with volcanic ashes from ancient eruptions and look like sculptures, made by Mother Nature herself.

After a refreshing sail on the lagoon we head back to Reykjavík.
